Dr Jerip: We are ready to face PRN12

KUCHING, Jan 19: The incumbent for Mambong state constituency Datuk Dr Jerip Susil says he is ready and long prepared to face the state election.

He said preparation has been made with Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) component parties on the ground earlier.

“If you ask me about our preparation, we have prepared earlier soon after Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg told us to do so.”

“Our team of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) and other GPS component parties have started moving and working closely with the grassroot members, community leaders and village chiefs,” Dr Jerip, who is Assistant Minister of Transport told reporters today when
visiting Nona Budis, 63 from Kpg Emperoh Garung, Jalan Borneo Heights, whose house was damaged due to a landslide on Jan 12.

Dr Jerip also pointed out that the preparation for the state election will take into serious account on Covid-19 pandemic.

“For our election machinery, we are changing our approach of working and we are providing training for them to strictly comply with the standard operating procedure (SOP) in the wake of Covid-19,” Dr Jerip explained.

Dr Jerip will contest under PBB, the lynch pin of the ruling GPS governmment after he left Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) in 2019.

He said last year that however he will leave his candidacy to Abang Johari, who is GPS chairman. — DayakDaily
