KUCHING, Oct 29: Assistant Minister for Education, Science and Technological Research Dr Annuar Rapaee has reminded the public to conduct a Covid-19 self-test before going back to their villages for the holidays to prevent spreading the virus to high-risk groups.
According to a report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, the community should not be complacent after the number of positive Covid-19 cases had begun to decline recently.
“This depends on the family members and the community itself in order to not spread the disease to high-risk groups. As such we must conduct a self-test before returning to our villages,” he said when met by reporters on Thursday.
Dr Annuar, who is also Nangka assemblyman, also emphasised that the community must continue to follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) set until Covid-19 is naturally gone or reaches the endemic stage.
“Until then we need to take our own precautions by following the SOPs in order to reduce the number of Covid-19 cases,” he added. — DayakDaily
