KUCHING, June 3: Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Patinggi Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has reunited with former Deputy Chief Minister of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Alfred Jabu Numpang during a Gawai Dayak celebration here last night.
Jabu was the Deputy Chief Minister from 1976 to 2016 whereas Zahid within that period has held several ministerial posts at the Federal level.
The two had been seen working together following their political duties in the past where Jabu was always present during Zahid’s official working visits to Sarawak.
According to a report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), the two had crossed paths again at a Gawai Dayak open house hosted by Deputy Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas at his residence here last night.
Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg was also present at the open house.
Others present included Deputy Premier Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian; former Deputy Chief Minister of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Alfred Jabu Numpang; Malaysian Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Dato Sri Nancy Shukri; Sarawak Minister of Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah; Sarawak Minister of Utility and Telecommunication Datuk Julaihi Narawi; Malaysian Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development Datuk Rubiah Wang; Satok assemblyman Dato Ibrahim Baki and Tupong assemblyman Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman. — DayakDaily
