KUCHING, June 3: Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Patinggi Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi paid a courtesy call to Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at the latter’s residence here today.

According to a report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), this is in conjunction with Zahid’s official visit to Sarawak.

Also present were Malaysian Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Dato Sri Nancy Shukri; Sarawak Minister of Utility and Telecommunication Datuk Julaihi Narawi; Malaysian Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development Datuk Rubiah Wang; Chief Political Secretary to Premier, Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman and Deputy Sarawak Secretary (Economic and Development Planning) Datu Dr Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel.

Zahid arrived in Kuching on Friday evening (June 2) for a two-day visit.

Zahid, who is also Minister of Rural and Regional Development, ‘ngabang’ (visited) Deputy Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas’ open house in conjunction with the Gawai Dayak celebration on the same evening.

He is expected to attend a Gawai open house and a ‘Leaders with the Community’ ceremony in Kapit today before departing back to the capital. — DayakDaily
