PUSA, Sept 15: Deputy Prime Minister Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof has agreed in principle to allocate initial funding of RM2 million to upgrade Pusa Waterfront.
According to a report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), he said the funding will be proposed under his budget for next year, and he urged the local elected representatives to submit a detailed proposal on the upgrading works.
“The request for the upgrade work (of Pusa Waterfront) was made by the local MP and assemblymen here. I have advised them to come up with a detailed proposal, including the project design, concept, and estimated cost.
“As an initial allocation, RM2 million will be proposed under my budget for next year.
“I am waiting for the proposal, and then I will submit it to the Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) for approval,” he said when met by reporters after the closing ceremony of the Tandang Sari Regatta 2024 held at Dataran Tandang Sari here earlier today.
Meanwhile, 21 teams from across Sarawak competed for the ‘King of the River’ title, with the Khazanah team winning first place and bringing home a cash prize of RM15,000.
Also present were Fadillah’s wife Datin Sri Ruziah Mohd Tahir; Deputy Minister for Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development, Datuk Mohammad Razi Sitam; Batang Lupar MP Mohammad Shafizan Kepli; Beting Maro assemblyman Razaili Gapor; Betong Division Resident, Richard Michael Abunawas; and Acting Pusa District Officer Jamain Wahab. — DayakDaily
