KUCHING, Feb 17: Deputy Prime Minister Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof has announced an allocation of RM400,000 to upgrade the Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Sungai Tengah Community Hall in Matang here.

He noted that the hall has not been fully completed, with the physical construction still in the first phase.

“We still have to ‘tembok tanah’ (filling work) near the hall. Then, we have to increase the toilet facilities because the existing two cubicles are not enough.

“We also have to install air conditioner in the hall when the electricity supply system have been completed. However, we will do it in stages.

“For the initial allocation, I will give RM400,000 to assist the completion of filling works,” he said when speaking at a Chinese New Year dinner with 15 associations in Matang held at the hall here earlier tonight.

At the same time, Fadillah who is also Malaysian Minister of Plantation and Commodities as well as Petra Jaya MP further announced an allocation of RM3,000 to each association which would involve a total amount of RM45,000. — DayakDaily
