KUCHING, March 7: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi concluded his working visit in Kuching by paying a visit to Dato Corrine Masing, the widow of the late Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Masing this afternoon.
According to a news report published by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), the purpose of the visit was to convey his greetings and remember the services and contributions made by the late Masing during his political career.
During the visit, Corrine also presented Ahmad Zahid with a souvenir photo of the Deputy Prime Minister’s 2017 visit to the residence of the deceased during the Gawai Dayak ‘Ngiling Bidai’ celebration.
The visit ended with dinner before Ahmad Zahid departed for Kuching International Airport (KIA).
The Deputy Prime Minister was accompanied by Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development Malaysia Datuk Rubiah Wang and Sarawak Deputy Minister for Infrastructure and Port Development (Infrastructure Development) Aidel Lariwoo.
Also present were Parti Rakyat Sarawak president Datuk Joseph Salang Gandum, Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department Datuk John Sikie Tayai, Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah, Sarawak Affairs, and Special Duties) Datuk Wilson Ugak Kumbong, Sarawak Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industries, and Performing Arts Datuk Snowdan Lawan, Sarawak Deputy Minister for Utilities and Telecommunication (Telecommunication) Datuk Liwan Lagang, and Sarawak Deputy Minister for Infrastructure and Port Development (Port Development) Dato Majang Renggi. — DayakDaily
