KUCHING, Dec 3: Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) Women’s chief and newly minted Sri Aman MP, Dato Sri Doris Sophia Brodie, urges her supporters to stop politicking and focus on putting their energy into bringing much-needed development to the Sri Aman division.

“We were hampered by development for at least three years after our representative abandoned ship and joined another political party.

“Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) has wrestled back the parliamentary constituency after giving the mandate to me on Nov 19. So let us stop politicking as the election is over, and GPS has won here at Sri Aman,” she said.

Doris added that it is time that she and the three State Legislative Assembly members from Simanggang, Bukit Bangunan, and Balai Ringgin bring development to the parliamentary constituency.

The political secretary to the Premier of Sarawak made such remarks before feting some 1,000 supporters from nearby villages for a thanksgiving lunch at her ancestral home of Kampung Enterbar, Undop, Batu Lintang in Sri Aman today.

“Now the parliamentary constituency and the three State constituencies are under GPS. So let us now make it the bastion for GPS and allow the government to bring development to the rural setting,” she said.

Doris thanked supporters for their tireless efforts in ensuring GPS’ victory in Sri Aman. She promised to do her best to be a representative of all races and religions in her constituency.

“Let us all work together to make this a reality and ensure progress is made in Sri Aman,” she said.

Also present at the gathering was Sarawak Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts, Datuk Snowdan Lawan. — DayakDaily
