SERIAN, Mar 8: Education, Innovation, and Talent Development (MEITD) Minister Dato Sri Roland Sagah Wee Inn has reminded mission schools to utilise the allocation provided through the Unit for Other Religions (Unifor) strictly for school building improvements.

Sagah emphasised that the funds allocated to each mission school are provided specifically for school upgrades and maintenance.

Don’t use it (allocation) to build a church. There is a different fund for churches or church activities,” he said during the ‘Bless Rural Children with Books and Soft Toys’ handover event, held in conjunction with D’Drift 2025 at Tapah service centre today.

He further encouraged other schools, whether primary or secondary, that require funding for improvements to submit requests and to be diligent in following up.

Don’t ask from MEITD because we don’t have this (school improvement and maintenance) fund. That is the Ministry of Education (MOE) Malaysia’s responsibility,” he said.

There are 14 mission schools within the Tarat constituency, which have received a total allocation of RM1.932 million, with amounts ranging from RM80,000 to RM200,000 according to their respective needs. –DayakDaily
