KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 15: Sarawakians, especially those living in Peninsular Malaysia, must not forget their roots and where they came from, says caretaker Senior Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.

Whether pursuing their dreams or life has taken them in a new direction, he said Sarawakians must never forget where they came from and the bonds which gave them the strength to be who they are today.

Speaking to over 6,000 Sarawakians at the Lan Berambeh Anak Sarawak 2022 dinner held at the Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Fadillah, who is also the event organising chairman added that the grass might look greener on the other side, but is there greener grass over there or is it as perfect as it seems?

“Of course, we will tell you to do your best wherever you are, and if you become successful, do not forget your roots because it is the foundation of your existence. It is where you are based and the place of your origin.

“Set an example and help your loved ones, friends, and fellow Sarawakians. Fulfil your duty to your beloved State of Sarawak when the opportunity arises.

“If it is not you, who else will help Sarawak grow and prosper? Remember, only Sarawakians will truly defend the fate of fellow Sarawakians, not outsiders,” Fadillah advised. — DayakDaily
