KUCHING, Sept 22: Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Youth secretary-general Milton Foo should retract his statement denying all the hard work and efforts by federal agencies and officers in carrying out cloud-seeding operations.

Special assistant to Stampin MP Chong Chieng Jen, Sim Kiat Leng, said that Foo has chosen to be blind to the federal government’s hard work and efforts.

“Foo’s statement is truly irresponsible and ignorant as the federal government has conducted cloud-seeding operations twice in Sarawak,” according to Sim in a statement.

He questioned how Sarawak’s wealth and natural resources in the past 56 years under the previous government had been used.

“Why is he (Foo) not questioning current state ruling political parties and previous Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders where is the money? Is he choosing to be blind and deaf towards the acts of these leaders?

“When Pakatan Harapan offered the state 20 per cent oil royalty and 50 per cent tax with the condition that the money collected for the oil royalty and tax can only be used for education and healthcare, it was rejected.

“If SUPP is concerned about Sarawakians, why did the state government let go of the offer when they were given the opportunity?” Sim asked.

He urged Foo to stop making ‘irresponsible’ statements in a bid to increase the latter’s political mileage by smearing the Pakatan Harapan government. — DayakDaily
