If convicted, Norlela faced a maximum penalty of one year in prison, a fine of up to RM2,000, or both.

The incident came to light when the victim’s daughter was informed by another domestic worker about bruises on her mother’s arm.

The victim, who is frail, revealed that the accused had pinched her arm while assisting her with ablution in the bedroom on December 26.

The daughter subsequently lodged a police report, leading to Norlela’s arrest at her residence in Kampung Spinang.
