Disabled man, senior citizen with no underlying health conditions among 5 BID Covid-19 cases reported today

KUCHING, Oct 14: A 52-year-old man with a disability and an 83-year-old man who had no underlying health conditions were among five Covid-19 brought-in-dead (BID) cases reported in Sarawak today.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the two deaths were reported in Sri Aman and Betong divisions, respectively.

Meanwhile, the other three BID cases involving senior citizens, aged between 70 and 79 were reported in Bintulu, Sri Aman and Kuching divisions, all of which had comorbidities.

The committee today also reported that a total of 23 new deaths which occurred between Oct 1 and 13 have pushed the State’s death toll to 1,060.

There was one casualty each reported on Oct 1 and Oct 4, involving the 83-year-old from Betong and a 74-year-old man from Sri Aman respectively.

On Oct 8, four deaths were reported, with the youngest victim being a 27-year-old woman with obesity from Betong division while the rest involved senior citizens from Bintulu, Betong and Samarahan.

On Oct 10, five deaths were reported, involving two men and three women from Sri Aman, Sibu, Mukah and Limbang aged between 52 and 84.

The backlog of cases reported today continued with nine deaths on Oct 11 and two on Oct 12 while there was only one fatality recorded yesterday (Oct 13) involving a 62-year-old woman in Kuching. — DayakDaily
