MIRI, Feb 12: Old habits die hard.

This rings true for a one-legged man who was busted by Narcotics Crime Investigation Division personnel for drug possession in a house in Krokop at about 10.20am yesterday.

This was not the first or second time this 52-year-old suspect, a local, had been arrested for drug offences. He has five previous criminal records related to drugs in 2017!

In the latest raid, Miri deputy police chief Supt Sabri Zainol said police confiscated nine packets of drugs believed to be methamphetamine (syabu) weighing a total of 6.18g with a street value of about RM1,000.

“Two packets of drugs weighing 0.70g were found inside the suspect’s room during an inspection conducted by the police personnel, while the remaining seven (weighing 5.48g) were discovered inside his car,” said Sabri.

It was believed that the suspect had been distributing drugs to local buyers.

Sabri said the case is being investigated under Section 39A(1), Section 12(2) and Section 15 (1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. — DayakDaily
