KUCHING, May 8: Development projects under Betong Division Development Agency (BDDA) will commence in August, says Deputy Sarawak Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas.
According to a news report by TV Sarawak (TVS) today, Uggah said BDDA now has a Special Officer to plan for development in Betong.
“They will hold a meeting soon. Our goal is to implement some projects in this short period of time. Hopefully in August,” he said when met by reporters at the Hari Raya Aidilfitri function organised by Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Saribas in Debak, yesterday.
Uggah said the projects that will be implemented only involve those that do not require a lot of work procedures such as farm roads, plantations and many others.
He also said most of the applications involve construction of farm roads and the committee has requested local representatives to submit their applications.
He added that as of now, project applications worth RM100 million has been submitted by the representatives of various areas. — DayakDaily
