KUCHING, Feb 21: Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas has called on a group of Iban community leaders from Serian Division to conduct a survey of their Native Customary Rights (NCR) using the Dayak Bidayuh National Association (DBNA) formula, with all landowners serving as surveyors and determining their respective land boundaries.

According to a press release, a group of Iban community leaders from the Serian Division, led by paramount chief Temenggong Datuk Harisson Lunsa, paid a courtesy visit to Uggah at his office in Wisma Bapa Malaysia here today.

Harrison stated that the courtesy visit was to invite Uggah to their dinner gathering in Serian town this Saturday.

He added that during the courtesy visit, they had a discussion with Uggah, who is also Minister for Infrastructure and Port Development (MIPD) Sarawak, on matters such as conducting a survey on their NCR, among others.

Harisson further remarked that the minister would provide them with three computers and three mobile GPS units to aid in their efforts to record the boundaries.

“In addition, he is giving our ‘Persatuan Ketua Masyarakat Dan Tuai Rumah Iban Bahagian Serian’ a RM30,000.00 grant,” he added. — DayakDaily
