KUCHING, Oct 5: Build Your Dream’s (BYD) newly-launched mall-concept showroom in CityOne Megamall in Kuching, which displays the latest models of its electric vehicles (EVs), signifies the start of a revolution that not only addresses climate change but also embraces artificial intelligence (AI).
This was stated by Sarawak Deputy Premier Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian during his speech prior to the official opening of the BYD Regas EV Auto Showroom at CityOne Megamall’s lower ground concourse area here.
“Now is the moment to embrace EVs, and this showroom holds significant importance. It is not just an ordinary showroom; rather, it is a crucial component in addressing climate change,” he said.
According to a press handout BYD, the world’s leading manufacturer of new EVs, along with Sime Darby Motors and a local dealership, Regas EV Auto Sdn Bhd, launched BYD’s first mall-concept showroom in East Malaysia to allow more Malaysians, particularly Sarawakians, to experience BYD EVs in Kuching.
“Situated at CityOne Megamall in Kuching, the newly launched showroom offers shoppers a unique experience – catering to their needs through an immersive retail display.
“Spanning 3,000 square feet, the showroom operates as a 1S centre showcasing the latest models in the market, ready for shoppers to conveniently experience BYD.
“To support customers with after-sales service and maintenance, the BYD service centre is conveniently located across the street along Jalan Tun Jugah, equipped with two service bays,” read the press handout.
As per the press handout, BYD currently has 12 showrooms in Malaysia, with BYD Cityone Megamall in Kuching being the third mall-concept showroom to open this year.
Among others present at the event were BYD Malaysia managing director Eagle Zhao, Sime Darby Beyond Auto acting managing director Syed Ahmad Muzri, Sime Darby Beyond Auto head of sales distribution of BYD Calvin Sze Tho, Regas EV Auto chairman David Tay and Regas EV Auto dealer principle Brandon Juan. — DayakDaily
