KUCHING, April 1: A hundred and thirty-eight (138) projects out of 151 have been successfully implemented in the Bukit Saban constituency.

According to Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, the remaining 13 projects are expected to commence soon.

He said this includes constructing two futsal fields contributed by a private company under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.

“We have yet to determine the sites as we are still scouting for them. However, we are grateful for the gesture, which will promote sports and better health among our youth,” he said.

He said this after a briefing by representatives of the implementing bodies, such as the Betong District Council, the divisional Public Works Department, and the Drainage and Irrigation Department in Spaoh yesterday (March 31).

Meanwhile, Uggah said there had been suggestions that the space in front of the new market facing the Paku river be converted into another recreational and food court.

“We are going to have an airport here by next year, which I believe will be the impetus for our better and more development, progress, and prosperity.

“It is our hope the people will continue to give us their closest cooperation and support, especially in the implementation of socio-economic projects aimed at upgrading their income,” Uggah added. — DayakDaily
