BETONG, Oct 8: Eleven matters in the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) have been resolved while 23 matters are still under negotiations, says Deputy Sarawak Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas.

He revealed this when describing the bravery of Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at Special Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Convention 2023 held in Betong today.

Uggah who is PBB deputy president, cited Abang Johari’s brave decision to lead PBB, Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP), Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) and Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) in leaving the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition to form Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) in 2018.

“He has also been struggling to reclaim Sarawak rights under MA63 which have been eroded.

“Eleven matters have been resolved and 23 are still under negotiations (to date),” he said.

Also present at the event were Abang Johari who is also PBB president and his wife Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang; Deputy Sarawak Premier-cum-PBB deputy president Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan; PBB senior vice president Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom; vice president Datuk Julaihi Narawi; permanent chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar and secretary-general Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi. – DayakDaily
