KUCHING, Oct 31: The Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) plays a vital role in delivering various government initiatives to the public accurately and authentically, without any political elements or bias.

Deputy Minister in the Premier of Sarawak’s Department (Corporate Affairs, Information, and Ukas) Datuk Abdullah Saidol emphasised that the Department provides essential information about the policies and initiatives of the Sarawak government through multiple platforms.

“Rest assured, there are no political campaigns in Ukas briefing sessions. We strive to keep ‘political fat’ out of our dissemination to ensure that information is delivered with complete integrity.

“Our goal is to present information that is authentic, precise, and true. It’s important for the community to understand the efforts of the Sarawak government,” he explained.

He made these remarks during the closing ceremony of the Information and Current Issues Explanation Tour programme at a hotel here today.

Abdullah further stated that Ukas aims to bridge the information gap between the residents and the Sarawak government through news and outreach programmes like this.

Also in attendance were Ukas director Samuel Simon, Community Communication Department (J-KOM) Sarawak director Mohamed Faizal Shah Ali, and political secretary to the Premier of Sarawak Kho Teck Wan. — DayakDaily
