KUCHING, March 11: Sarawak civil servants should be given fair opportunities to work and hold office at the federal government.
Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department in charge of the Sabah and Sarawak Affairs, Datuk Wilson Ugak Kumbong said this is only fair as Malaysia was formed by a few states and regions including Sarawak and Sabah.
Ugak, who is also Hulu Rajang MP, said he had discussed this matter with the Chief Secretary to the Government of Malaysia before.
According to a news report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Ugak told this to the reporters after handing over cheques to 36 primary schools in Kapit Division on Friday (March 10).
Each school received RM3,000 while the Kapit Division Headmaster Council got RM25,000 for their planned activities. — Dayakdaily
