KUCHING, July 20: The tendering process for the delayed Daro Dental Clinic project will start in August while construction is to begin next year.
According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) today, federal Deputy Minister of Health Lukanisman Awang Sauni said apart from that, the construction of Daro Health Clinic which was razed by a fire a few years ago will also continue through the Malaysia Plan.
“The initial site preparation work has been carried out. Now it is just waiting for the Type 4 Clinic design process from JKR (Public Works Department) Sarawak and then the tender process,” he told reporters during his visit to health facilities in Daro on Wednesday (July 19).
Meanwhile, Lukanisman said among the factors which resulted in sick projects involving 22 out of 24 health facility projects under Ministry of Health (MOH) in Sarawak was that the appointed contractors do not have specific experience for the projects.
He added that other issues include the problem of disruption of water supply and water quality which is a constraint on smooth operations. — DayakDaily
