KUCHING, May 2: The decision whether Sarawak will implement another round of Movement Control Order (MCO) will depend on the outcome of the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) meeting tomorrow.
SDMC chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said an announcement would be made tomorrow after the committee has its meeting.
“Wait for tomorrow’s meeting,” he told DayakDaily today.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin in a press statement yesterday said the government will review the MCO that is in force in states that are recording spikes in Covid-19 cases.
He explained that the review was necessary to ensure all measures and standard operating procedure (SOP) in place are adequate to curb the transmission of coronavirus in the country.
Apart from that, national daily The Star had yesterday reported that the Ministry of Health has proposed two weeks of MCO to be implemented in states that witness a spike in Covid-19 cases.
