DBKU’s `radioKu’ to go live online on March 27

KUCHING, March 15: Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) has created a history of sorts as the first local authority in the state to own an internet online radio station.

Mayor Datuk Abang Abdul Wahap Abang Julai performed the soft launching today, while Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg is scheduled to officially launch it on March 27 in conjunction with the Old Kuching Smart Heritage Agenda.

In a statement today, DBKU public relations officer Norhayati Bidin said the radio station is called `radioKu’ and comes with a localised tagline `Kuss…Semenget’.

“The radio station aims to foster closer and unrestricted relationships with Kuching North City residents. It is currently on a trial run, and as soon as it is launched, it will go live online through the internet,” she said.

Kuching residents can listen to radioKu through https://dbku.sarawak.gov.my. They will soon be able to download the radioKu app.

Norhayati said interesting segments to look forward to include `Tazkirah’,`Motivasi Pagi’, `Hello Kuching!’, `Porettt Lok!’ and `DBKU & Anda’ from Mondays to Fridays, 8am to 5pm starting March 27.

“The radio station will be made merrier by 10 radio disc jockeys (DJ), namely SheemaDean, Yus, Raj, SB, Sha, Shah, AJ, Sab, Faz and Is. They are all very experienced DBKU employees,” she said.
