KUCHING, March 20: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg joined the Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) for a special Ramadan iftar event tonight, aimed at strengthening ties between State leaders, DBKU staff, and the local community.
Held at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUS) here, the gathering also featured a charitable initiative, where Abang Johari presented Ramadan contributions to 20 orphans from the Datuk Amar Hajah Juma’ani Welfare Centre.
The contribution, part of DBKU’s welfare initiative, reflects concern and support for those in need.
The Premier’s attendance reflected the State government’s commitment to recognising the contributions of civil servants and fostering unity within public administration.
Approximately 300 DBKU personnel took part in the event, sharing in the spirit of Ramadan while enjoying the communal breaking of fast.

DBKU expressed hope that similar events will continue to serve as a platform to foster camaraderie and enhance team spirit among its workforce.
Among those present were Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Coordinator of Projects for Regional Development Agencies, Kuching North City Hall, and Islamic Affairs), Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, and his wife, Datin Siti Shorgayah Ahmad Zaidin; State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki; DBKU Mayor Dato Hilmy Othman; DBKU director Ramzi Abdillah; and other guests. — DayakDaily
