DBKU carries out dog-catching ops in Kpg Buntal following attacks, biting incidents

KUCHING, April 5: The Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) captured four stray dogs in an operation carried out at Kampung Buntal here on April 2.

According to TVS, this followed public complaints about incidents of attacks and dog bites in the area.

“This operation was carried out to reduce the risk of dog bites, the spread of diseases like rabies, and disturbances to the residents,” it said.

For the record, in 2024, 1,282 stray dogs have been captured within DBKU’s jurisdiction, with an average of 107 a month.

For this year, as of March, 282 dogs have been captured, averaging 94 for the first three months.

DBKU expressed its appreciation for the complaints received from the public and ensures that every complaint received will be investigated and acted upon promptly. — DayakDaily
