KUCHING, Nov 3: A fake image altering the result of a recent DayakDaily Facebook poll asking “Should Federal Village Community Management Council (MPKKP) be set up in Sarawak?” has been circulating on social media.
DayakDaily wishes to clarify that the said image which depicts the result that 71 per cent of poll participants agreed to its setting up while 29 per cent disagreed is not the result of our poll.
For the actual result, please visit https://www.facebook.com/1348351441900718/posts/2625375937531589/.
DayakDaily emphasises that our poll was in English and not in Bahasa Malaysia as pictured in the fake image.
The real DayakDaily poll was held from Oct 29 at 6.36 pm and lasted for 36 hours till Oct 30.
More than 3,900 individuals among 29,732 reached took part in the DayakDaily poll.
Out of 3,900 who voted, more than 2,200 were against it and over 1,700 expressed agreement with the setting up of the MPKKP in Sarawak, that is 57 per cent who voted disagreed with it while 43 per cent believed that it should be set up.
The question asked was “Should MPKKP be set up in Sarawak?” and the options given to the respondents were just “Yes” and “No”.
The reason the poll was held is because the setting up of MPKKP is a hot topic in Sarawak.
The poll only reflects the opinion of the respondents and should not be read as an absolute indicator on whether MPKKP should be implemented in Sarawak. — DayakDaily
