MIRI, July 12: An upcoming event will gather three fairs featuring education, career and entrepreneur programmes under one roof.
According to event organising chairman Cr Leslie Lau during a press conference today at Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Piasau branch, the two-day event, dubbed Datuk Sebastian’s 2022 Education, Career and Entrepreneur Fair is scheduled to be held on July 30 and 31 at Level 7, Meritz Hotel Miri.
“Datuk Sebastian’s 2022 Education, Career and Entrepreneur Fair is a project initiated by SUPP Piasau Service Centre Youth Branch with Miri Division Education Initiative Society (MEIS). We have our respective partners for each individual fair,” disclosed Lau.
He added, that they also working with MMS Education Centre for the education fair, Social Security Organisation (Socso) for the career fair, and Chamber of Sarawak Bumiputera Entreprenuers (DUBS) Miri branch for the entrepreneur fair.
“There are other partners which are still waiting for their confirmation of participation. For education, 20 exhibitors from various higher learning institutions have confirmed so far, while 10 companies mainly from the oil and gas industries are confirmed for the career fair, and six are confirmed for the entreprenuer fair,” disclosed Lau who is also SUPP Miri (Piasau) Youth Branch Secretary and the President of MEIS.
“We hope through this fair, we can ease the burden of the people and bring the information to people in Miri. We welcome everyone to visit the fair,” he said.
Entry to the fair is free of charge.
