Darul Ihsan Mosque in Pusa hit by waves

KUCHING, Nov 15: Darul Ihsan Mosque in Kampung Semarang, Pusa was damaged after being hit by waves yesterday.

Saratok Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) chief PPgB Nazry Mohamat, who went to the location to monitor the situation, informed that the mosque was badly damaged in the incident that occurred at about 4.30 pm.

He said today the mosque is situated about 180 metres from the beach.

“The mosque will not be used anymore, as there is a plan to build a new one. For the moment, the Friday prayer and any other activities will be held at the nearby surau,” he added.

The Darul Ishan Mosque, with its unique traditional Malays architecture, was built in May, 1959, and is located at the end of Kampung Samarang in Pusa facing the beach. –DayakDaily
