DAP’s Wong wins Sarikei with 2,570-vote majority

SARIKEI, May 10: Democratic Action Party (DAP) Sarikei candidate Wong Ling Biu has retained the seat by a majority of 2,570 votes.

He garnered 16,327 votes against Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) candidate Dato Sri Huang Tiong Sii’s 13,757 votes while Parti Bumi Kenyalang candidate Wong Ching King managed to poll 392 votes.

This victory will mark the start of Wong’s second term as Sarikei MP.


In 2013 General Election, Wong won the seat with a slim majority of 505 votes where he polled 14,263 votes against SUPP Ding Kwong Hiing’s 13,758 votes. — DayakDaily
