KUCHING, April 7: Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) president Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian ridiculed the stance of Democratic Action Party (DAP) to use the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) logo for the coming general election (GE14).
He said that it showed that the party was lacking in decisiveness, which would translate to their attitude towards the ‘rakyat’.
“It is interesting that they chose PKR (logo). DAP ‘sudah hilang’ (disappears) after 60 years; they start joining PKR,” Dr Sim said.
Last night, Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad revealed that all four opposition parties, including Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (BERSATU) and the National Trust Party (AMANAH) will be using the PKR logo for GE14.
“DAP has been using the rocket logo for 60 years. Other parties also love their symbols, but today in the name of unity all four parties will be using a common symbol (for the coming GE).
“I am happy that something that was deemed impossible in the past is now possible, for the sake of unity to face Barisan Nasional (BN),” he was quoted as saying during an announcement at Pasir Gudang, Johor last night.
Dr Sim said that political parties contesting in GE14 could use any logo they want.
However DAP’s indecisiveness showed that it has been deceiving the ‘rakyat’ all this while, he claimed. — DayakDaily
