KUCHING, Dec 6: Democratic Action Party’s (DAP) Irene Chang will be defending her Bukit Assek seat against five other candidates in the 12th Sarawak Election on Dec 18.
Chang will be contesting against Jess Lau from Sarawak People’s Aspiration Party (Aspirasi), Chieng Jin Ek from Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), Ting Kee Nguan from Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB), Priscilla Lau from Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) and independent candidate Hii Tiong Huat.
In the 11th Sarawak Election in 2016, Chang won against Chieng Buong Toon of Barisan Nasional (BN) and Moh Hiong King from State Reform Party (STAR) with a majority of 4,497 votes.
She garnered 11,392 votes as compared to Chieng’s 6,895 votes and Moh’s 374 votes. — DayakDaily
