DAP’s Alice Lau re-elected as MP for Lanang for third term

KUCHING, Nov 19: Alice Lau of Democratic Action Party (DAP) has managed to defend P211 Lanang with a majority of 11,544 votes in a four-cornered fight in the 15th General Election (GE15).

In this urban constituency of 87,356 total eligible voters, Lau has garnered 30,120 votes against 18,576 votes of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidate Wong Ching Yong, 3,663 votes of Priscilla Lau of Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) and 587 votes of independent candidate Wong Tiing Kiong.  


The seat is made up of Dudong and Bukit Assek State constituencies which are all under GPS.  

In the 2018 parliamentary election, Lau garnered 29,905 votes to retain the Lanang seat with a majority of 14,546 votes in a three-cornered fight.

SUPP’s Kelvin Kong secured 15,539 votes while Priscilla Lau who was then with Sarawak Peace Party obtained 628 votes. — DayakDaily
