KUCHING, May 26: SK Laksamana’s carpark roof that was damaged by a fallen tree during a flash flood two months ago, will get a new ‘makeover’, courtesy of an allocation from Democratic Action Party (DAP) Sarawak .
According to special assistant to DAP Sarawak chairman Chong Chieng Jen, Michael Kong Feng Nian, this was made possible after Chong, who is Stampin MP, approved the necessary financial allocation to cover the repair works.
“Despite not having access to the substantial RM9 million allocation that Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) assemblymen possess, we recognise the importance of assisting this school, particularly considering the dedication of its teachers and the needs of its special students.
“YB Chong, without hesitation, promptly approved a financial allocation to cover the repair works,” he said in a statement after handing over the funds to the school this morning. — DayakDaily
