DAP man urges authorities to look into report of missing teenage girl

Michael Kong Feng Nian

KUCHING, Jan 17: Special assistant to Sarawak Democratic Action Party (DAP) chairman Chong Chieng Jen, Michael Kong Feng Nian, has urged authorities to take the report regarding the disappearance of a 14-year old local girl more seriously.

In a statement today, Kong said earlier this week that a man known as Mr Chin went to two police stations to lodge a report about his daughter’s disappearance.

According to him, Chin’s efforts were refused under the pretext that his daughter was with her friends.

“Yesterday, I brought Mr Chin to Kota Sentosa police station, and he was finally able to lodge his report.

“The authorities will be investigating the matter, and we hope Mr Chin can be reunited with his daughter again,” he said.

Kong said Chin’s daughter left the family home more than two weeks ago.

He also said during this entire two-week period, Chin could not contact his daughter and grew worried about her safety and whereabouts.

“She has also failed to attend school during these two weeks,” he added. ― DayakDaily
