KUCHING, Mar 2: Has Puncak Borneo MP Willie Mongin left Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) and joined the new coalition of Perikatan Nasional led by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin?

In a statement today, Bidayuh leaders from Democratic Action Party (DAP) seemed to be indirectly pointing out that Willie was one of those who played a part in the Sheraton episode and had betrayed his voters by leaving the party to join Muhyiddin. The DAP Bidayuh leaders thus called for the resignation of this Bidayuh MP.

“The Bidayuh leaders from Democratic Action Party (DAP) are really upset with the political manoeuvring which sees Pakatan Harapan collapse (by the betrayal by such move).

“What is more upset (was) when one of the Bidayuh leaders from Pakatan Harapan was one of the politicians that started the so-called ‘Shereton Move’.

“We, the Bidayuh leaders from the DAP condemned such betrayal act that betrayed the people’s mandate given to the Pakatan Harapan,” said Political Secretary to YB Chong Chieng Jen Sanjan Daik and Special Officer to YB Wong King Wei Brolin Nicholsion in a joint statement today.

The statement then claimed that some villagers in Puncak Borneo felt betrayed and they were disgusted by the ‘jumping’ of their MPs from PH to join the new coalition led by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

“Therefore, the member of of Puncak Borneo should resign from his position as he is not elected under the Tan Sri Muhyiddin but was elected under PH and to be specific, under the Pakatan Keadilan Rakyat’s (PKR) logo,” said the statement.

Meanwhile, both of them agreed that despite the change of federal Government, DAP Sarawak’s local activities continued.

The statement pointed out that two DAP sub-branches have been set up in Mambong constituency at Kampung Simuti and Kampung Sadir.

Bam Bakot was appointed to head Kampung Simuti sub-branch while Edwin Kored will lead the sub-branch of Kampung Sadia.

There are 48 families and a total population of about 400 villagers at Kampung Simuti while Kampung Sadir has 110 families and a total population of about 700 people. — DayakDaily
