KUCHING, April 5: The Democratic Action Party (DAP) Bandar Kuching office has helped SJK Chung Hua No. 1 install blinds and tint film on the school’s windows to reduce glare and heat caused by direct sunlight in order to create an improved learning environment for students and teachers.

Bandar Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii said quite a number of classrooms received direct sunlight coming through the windows which can make it uncomfortable for students and teachers to concentrate as the glare and heat can be unbearable especially in the afternoon.

“We were informed that the rules do not allow curtains to be installed inside the classrooms.

“So we contributed the installation of 12 wooden blinds along the corridor of three main classes of Primary Three as well as tint for the windows of 12 classrooms with Nano Ceramic film to filter out harmful sun rays and heat to protect the students and teachers.

“We also installed 16 sets of roller blinds for four pre-school classes to protect the young children as well,” he said in a statement today.

Dr Yii added that Sarawak DAP, especially his office, will continue to work with all the schools in his constituency to create a more conducive environment for the school community to learn and grow. — DayakDaily
