KUCHING, Aug 10: An 800mm mild steel cement lined (MSCL) water pipe damaged during construction works at the SM02 ART station site in Kota Samarahan is expected to be fully repaired by 8pm tonight.
Sarawak Metro said the pipe was accidentally damaged over the weekend during construction works under Package 1 of the Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS) Blue Line.
Repair works are currently underway, with Sarawak Metro working closely with the Blue Line Package 1 contractor, the joint venture between Ibraco Construction Sdn Bhd and China Railway Engineering Corporation (M) Sdn Bhd (ICJV), as well as the relevant authorities.
The repair is being overseen by Sarawak Water Sdn Bhd and the Sarawak Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB).
“Sarawak Metro apologises for any inconvenience caused by this incident,” the company said in a media statement today. — DayakDaily
