KUCHING, Jan 27: Dalat, Bintulu, Kanowit, Beluru, Miri, Sibu and Kuching remained in the high-risk red zone of Covid-19 pandemic spread with 63 local cases added today, pushing the total cases in the seven districts to 1,702 in the past 14 days.
State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas informed that Sarikei, Subis, Betong and Song also maintained its orange status with a total of 107 local cases reported in the past 14 days.
Sebauh, Lawas, Telang Usan, Bukit Mabong, Tatu, Bau, Pakan, Serian, Belaga, Meradong, Julau, Kapit, Simunjan, Asajaya, Lubok Antu, Selangau, Samarahan and Sri Aman are still under yellow zone status with total of 106 local cases reported in the past 14 days.
Of the 40 districts in Sarawak, there were only 11 districts still managed to maintain and defend its green zone status.
They were Limbang, Lundu, Tanjung Manis, Tebedu, Mukah, Daro, Matu, Pusa, Saratok, Kabong and Marudi.
Meanwhile, Sarawak reported one more Covid-19 fatality in Sibu and 70 new infections today (Jan 22), with Sibu recording the highest number of cases at 34 followed by Dalat (10), Bintulu (9), Kanowit (7), Betong (4), two each in Miri and Serian, and one each in Kuching and Bau.
As such, the state tally of positive cases has now been pushed up to 3,774. —DayakDaily
