Shopping malls here are happening places during this time of the year, pulling out all the stops to amaze patrons by creating whimsical, colourful displays as well as elaborate themed decorations.

Everywhere you look, chances are there will be something unique, inciting the imagination, sparking delight and injecting a burst of holiday excitement.

DayakDaily is of the opinion that there are few better ways to get into the holiday mood than by immersing oneself in the Christmas wonderlands designed and created by the various shopping malls here in the city.

A spokesperson from Vivacity Shopping Mall said the mall had planned a number of activities for their patrons and also charity events to benefit the underprivileged as part of their corporate social responsibility.

“There are plenty of Christmas decorations and places where patrons can hang out and also take a festive snapshot with our Christmas decorations, such as at our main entrance at the east side of our mall at the E-atrium,” she said when met by DayakDaily recently.

Meanwhile, those visiting Plaza Merdeka will have the opportunity to visit the `Timeless Memories Christmas’ display at the main atrium, which is decorated with toys and other decorations that will help them relive their childhood memories as well as create memorable ones this festive season.

Christmas is an enjoyable time for many adults and children because it presents so many opportunities to have fun, be it remembering happy times or fulfilling childhood fantasies.

After all, what is Christmas without a great snow-white Winter Wonderland with Santa Claus and his magic sleigh full of presents pulled by his industrious reindeers?

It is also great to see that some shopping malls are drawing inspirations from characters from fables and fairytales to bring out the Christmas magic and fantasy.

For those who love the excitement of this festive season and making merry, shopping malls don’t just fire the imagination and holiday mood but also offer the chance to create their own festive atmospheres at home by stocking up on holiday decorations and (especially for children, the best part of all) presents!

Christmas has always been associated with the spirit of giving. If one needs to pick up Christmas goodies as gifts for friends and family, many shopping malls and their tenants have toiled out lots of great promotions that are not to be missed, creating an additional ‘wow’ factor.

Irrespective of race and religion, this time of the year offers plenty of opportunities to bring friends and family together.

As the countdown continues and Christmas draws nearer, it is time to join in the crowd and patronise your local shopping malls to soak in the atmosphere and get in the festive spirit. Before you leave, remember to stop by the Christmas tree (maybe even under the mistletoe if you’re with a special someone), take a photo to share, and wish everybody a Merry Christmas. — DayakDaily
