SIBU, July 30: An accident near Jalan Sibu Ulu Oya this morning resulted in two cars being launched into bushes, and injuring and trapping a 47-year-old female driver.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak responded to the emergency at 8.05am and immediately deployed a team of firefighters from the Sungai Merah Station to the scene near SK Ulu Sungai Merah.
In the two-vehicle crash, a Proton Saga ended up in the bush, trapping the female driver inside, while a female passenger managed to exit the vehicle before emergency responders arrived.
Firefighters successfully extricated the female driver, who was then handed over to the paramedics and awaiting ambulance for medical attention.
The driver of the other car, a Proton Wira which overturned into the bush, managed to exit the vehicle and was sent to the hospital by passersby prior to the arrival of firefighters.
The operation concluded just before 9am after firefighters ensured the site was safe. — DayakDaily
