Covid-19: Zero positive cases for Sarawak today

KUCHING, Aug 1: Sarawak recorded zero positive Covid-19 cases today, thus the total cumulative tally remains at 678.

Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement said there were 12 recoveries and discharge cases, with eight from Sarawak General Hospital, three from Bintulu hospital, and one from Sungai Buloh hospital.

The total recovered and discharged cases to date are 591 or 87.17 per cent, while 68 active cases are still being treated in hospitals.


No deaths were reported, leaving the death toll at 19.

Two new person-under-investigation (PUI) cases were recorded today, and another three are still waiting for their laboratory result.

The 10 clusters that are still active in the state are Engineering Firm Cluster (8), Mambong Cluster (7), Medical Centre Cluster (3), Jupiter Cluster (3), Stutong Market Cluster (7), Kuching Jetty Cluster (2), Sentosa Cluster (31), Melbourne PUI Cluster (2), Kuching Construction Company Cluster (2) and Satok Market Cluster (4).

Meanwhile, police have set up six roadblocks under Ops Benteng in five districts namely Lundu (2), Serian (1), Sri Aman (1) and Lubok Antu (1).

From the six roadblocks, SDMC said 1,406 vehicles were inspected.

Police have also issued 18 compound notices in Miri, Kuching, Samarahan, Padawan and Limbang to those who did not comply to standard operating procedures (SOP).

They’ve also arrested six Chinese and six Vietnamese foreign national in Sibu for not complying to the SOP.—DayakDaily
