Covid-19: Zero new cases, recoveries

KUCHING, May 26: Sarawak recorded no new Covid-19 recoveries but also no new positive cases as of 2pm today.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) disclosed in a statement today that there were no changes to the state’s tally of positive Covid-19 cases at 549 and 17 deaths.

Sarawak has recorded 473 recoveries or 86.16 per cent of total positive cases so far.

As of today, 59 patients are being treated in hospitals throughout the state but none are in Intensive Care Units (ICUs) or require respiratory support.

A total of 44 patients are treated in Sarawak General Hospital (SGH), Sibu Hospital (8), Bintulu Hospital (5) and Miri Hospital (2).

Five districts in Sarawak are still labelled Covid-19 yellow zones (40 or fewer Covid-19 cases), namely Kuching, Sibu, Serian, Bintulu and Tanjung Manis.

Meanwhile, the state also registered 141 more person-under-investigation (PUI) cases today while 155 cases are still awaiting laboratory test results.

There are also 48 more persons-under-surveillance (PUS) have been checked into selected hotels to undergo a compulsory 14-day quarantine. A total of 11,282 PUS have completed quarantine. — DayakDaily
