Covid-19: Zero new cases, 7 active clusters remain

KUCHING, Aug 17: Sarawak recorded zero new cases of Covid-19 today, with seven active clusters still remain.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) disclosed, in a statement, today the seven remaining active clusters involved a total of 62 individuals.

ā€œThe clusters are namely engineering cluster (eight cases), Mambong cluster (seven cases), Stutong market cluster (seven cases), Sentosa cluster (31 cases), PUI Melbourne cluster (three cases), Kuching construction company cluster (two cases) and Satok market cluster (four cases).


ā€œWith no new cases reported today, the total positive Covid-19 cases in the state remained at 682 cases, and the total number of Covid-19 recovered and discharged cases also remained at 659 cases (96.63 per cent),ā€ it said.

The statement also noted a total of four individuals are being treated in the isolation ward and the death toll remained at 19 cases (2.79 per cent).

ā€œToday, two Person Under Investigation (PUI) are also reported with one case still waiting for laboratory test result,ā€ the statement read. ā€“DayakDaily.
