KUCHING, June 25: Sarawak’s Covid-19 tally remains at 570 cases with no new cases reported today.
According to a statement from the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) secretariat, two patients were discharged from the Sarawak General Hospital today (SGH). This brings the total number of recovered and discharged patients in Sarawak to 537 or 94.21 per cent of total Covid-19 cases.
Sixteen patients are still being treated in hospital isolation wards in SGH (7) and Bintulu Hospital (9). The state’s death toll is unchanged at 17.
Meanwhile, 31 new Person-Under-Investigation (PUI) cases were reported, and three PUI cases awaiting laboratory test results.
Of the new PUI cases today, 24 are from Kuching.
Bintulu and Kuching remain as Covid-19 yellow zones (with 40 Covid-19 cases and below).
Concerning compliance with the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO), so far a total of 2,049 premises have been monitored, comprising supermarkets (343), restaurants (449), factories (18), banks (184), government offices (78), hawkers (26), farmers/public markets (103), places of worship (107), recreational venues (60), construction sites (24) and others (657).
A total of 623 RMCO enforcement teams are on the ground comprising police (301), armed forces (49), People’s Volunteer Corps (127), Civil Defence Force (86), local council (52), Ministry of Health (6) and other (2) personnel.
To-date, there were six roadblocks in five districts in conjunction with Ops Banteng, namely Lundu (2), Bau (1), Serian (1), Sri Aman (1) and Lubok Antu (1). Since the roadblocks were implemented, a total of 751 vehicles have been examined.
Meanwhile, 63 new Persons-Under-Surveillance (PUS) were checked into selected hotels to undergo 14-day quarantines. A total of 959 PUS are currently in quarantine in 13 hotels across the state. As of 8am today, 16,619 PUS have completed their quanrantines.
To-date, the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) has carried out sanitisation operations at 1,322 locates across the state, including four today.
The Local Government and Housing Ministry also carried out sanitisation operations at 49 locations statewide today. — DayakDaily
