Covid-19: Tg Manis declared orange zone after reporting 23 cases over a fortnight

KUCHING, March 30: Tanjung Manis’ Covid-19 advisory level has changed to orange after the district recorded 23 local cases in the past 14 days.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in its daily update on the Covid-19 situation in Sarawak, revealed that this thus increased the state’s number of districts with Covid-19 orange zone status to five.

The remaining four districts with orange status are Bukit Mabong (30 cases), Sarikei (27 cases), Kanowit (25 cases) and Song (21 cases).


There are 11 districts categorised as high-risk red zones with Miri leading the list of infections reported in the last two weeks at 550 cases followed by Sibu (547), Bintulu (521), Kuching (202), Samarahan (121), Serian (199), Meradong (106), Kapit (99), Julau (81), Sri Aman (66) and Betong (58).

A total of 16 districts are Covid-19 yellow zones namely Matu, Pakan, Marudi, Subis, Beluru, Tebedu, Bau, Mukah, Selangau, Dalat, Limbang, Telang Usan, Belaga, Lundu, Saratok and Sebauh.

There are currently only eight districts categorised as green zones with no cases registered in the last 14 days. They are Tatau, Pusa, Asajaya, Lawas, Daro, Simunjan, Lubok Antu and Kabong. — DayakDaily
