KUCHING, May 20: Simunjan district lost its Covid-19 green status today, as Bukit Mabong fell into the red zone.
According to the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a press statement today, Simunjan returned to yellow zone status after recording one new local infection, bringing the total number of districts under yellow status to 10.
“Bukit Mabong also returned to red zone status after recording a total of 54 new local infection cases in the past two weeks, bringing the total number of districts in the state with red status to 25 districts,” it said.
The statement noted only one district remains classified as an orange zone, while four districts remain green zones.
As of today, the red zone districts are Bukit Mabong, Tebedu, Betong, Pusa, Bau, Belaga, Sebauh, Sri Aman, Pakan, Song, Kanowit, Selangau, Saratok, Subis, Mukah, sarikei, Beluru, Samarahan, Serian, Meradong, Kuching, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri and Sibu.
Tatau is the only district with orange status.
The 10 districts with yellow status today are Simunjan, Lundu, Julau, Lawas, Matu, Tanjung Manis, Dalat, Daro, Lubok Antu and Limbang, while Marudi, Asajaya, Telang Usan and Kabong’s green status remain unchanged. — DayakDaily
