Covid-19: Sibu, Kuching record 6 deaths as Sarawak logs 619 new cases in Epid Week 35

KUCHING, Sept 5: Sibu recorded four Covid-19 deaths while Kuching recorded two, as Sarawak reported 619 new Covid-19 cases during Epid (Epidemiological) Week 35.

In a statement today, Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said that of the new cases reported, 594 were under Categories 1 and 2, while 25 were under Categories 3, 4, and 5.

This has brought the total cumulative number of cases reported in the State to 313,151.


By district, Kuching remained at the top with the most number of new cases at 194, followed by Miri (110), Sibu (83), Bintulu (74), Samarahan (24), Sarikei (22), Serian (15), Bau (13), Dalat (13), Mukah (8), Meradong (6), Sri Aman (5), Betong (5), Tatau (4), Daro (4), Matu (3), Lawas (3), Julau (3), Marudi (3), Saratok (3), Limbang (2), Asajaya (2), Lundu (2), Lubok Antu (2), Kapit (2), Subis (2), Kanowit (2), Belaga (2), while Pakan, Simunjan, Beluru, Kabong, Selangau, Song, Tanjung Manis and Tebedu recorded one case each. — DayakDaily
