Covid-19: Sibu Hospital implements visitor restrictions

SIBU, March 16: Sibu Hospital has implemented containment measures to safeguard against Covid-19 by restricting the number of visitors.

According to a notice by its hospital director dated yesterday, with immediate effect, only one visitor at a time will be allowed, and visiting hours are strictly between 1pm to 2pm and 5pm to 7pm daily.

Children below the age of 12 are not allowed to visit patients in the ward.

This is done in the interest of the public, visitors and hospital staff.

Visitors with influenza symptoms such as fever, cough, flu, sore throat, vomiting and diarrhea are not allowed to be in the ward as well.

Those who are at high risk such as with chronic disease or low immunity such as cancer patients are not allowed to visit the hospital unless in an emergency.

As of yesterday, Sarawak has recorded 20 positive Covid-19 cases, with a total of 428 recorded in Malaysia.
