Covid-19: Sarikei reverts to yellow zone today

KUCHING, Feb 21: Sarikei has returned to yellow zone status from green zone after recording one positive Covid-19 case in the last 14 days.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a press statement today, said the latest case was detected in Sarikei involving a symptomatic individual who tested positive for the virus in Sarikei health facility.

At the same time, Bukit Mabong also changed to orange zone status from yellow zone status after reporting a total of 27 new cases in the past 14 days.


Both Beluru and Dalat at the same time, returned to orange zone status from red zone status after these two districts reported only 23 (Beluru) and 32 (Dalat) cases of infection in the past 14-days.

Other districts namely Kuching, Samarahan, Julau, Subis, Kapit, Song, Bintulu, Kanowit, Miri and Sibu remain as the red zone status with a total of 2,024 cases of infection reported in the last 14 days.

Sri Aman remains in the orange zone status with a total of 33 cases of infection reported in the previous 14 days, while Lundu, Bau, Matu, Selangau, Betong, Saratok, Sebauh, Tatau, Pakan, Serian, Belaga and Meradong stay as yellow zone status with 72 cases recorded in the last fortnight.

Thirteen other district namely Asajaya, Tebedu, Simunjan, Pusa, Lubok Antu, Kabong, Tanjung Manis, Daro, Mukah, Telang Usan, Marudi, Limbang and Lawas continue to record zero cases and maintaining the green zone status. — DayakDaily
